Audio: 'Move' In Ruby Francis' Direction
R&B from across the pond continues to be lit, and Ruby Francis' "Move" is so lit that it's luminous. Co-produced with Shift K3y (who was responsible for K Stewart's kick ass "Keeping You Up"), "Move" is a silky n' seductive R&B joint that is adorned with a tight, bubble bass groove and tinkling ivories. It's the perfect introduction to this London town bred newbie, who's curating a debut EP as I type this.
Maybe it's Miss Ruby's sweetened vocals, or the bedrock groove, but I'm reminded of the smoothest R&B joints from the early 2000's, back when Aaliyah was alive and rocking that boat and Brandy was gazing at the full moon --- you know the good old days when American R&B had actual feeling.
